Gender Equality at Crusaders
Women and girls are at the heart of our vision for futsal. In alignment with Football Queensland’s Women and Girls Strategy, we are committed to building pathways where female players, coaches, referees, and volunteers are supported, celebrated, and empowered to succeed.
On-court excellence
We are proud to have Crusaders represented at the highest level, including players in the Australian Women’s Futsal Team. Our female First Team is the most successful squad in the club’s history, excelling in competition and leading as role models who inspire the next generation.
Inclusive communication
We ensure all public and internal communications use gender-inclusive and respectful language. We actively challenge gender discrimination and provide an environment where women and girls feel empowered to use their voice.
Expanding opportunities: From competitive squads to social and fitness-based futsal programs, we are committed to growing participation for women and girls at every level.
Reducing barriers
We work to make futsal accessible by securing grants and sponsorships that reduce costs. In 2023, some women’s teams played at no cost, and we are determined to continue this approach.
Pathways to leadership
We support women and girls not only as players but also as coaches, referees, and volunteers—ensuring equal opportunities to contribute, lead, and shape the future of futsal.
Through these actions, the Crusaders are proud to play our part in Football Queensland’s goal of achieving 50:50 gender parity by 2027. We know that progress comes from action, and we are committed to leading with purpose, celebrating success, and continuing to do better every season.
